Part of what makes MLFB a necessary place for athletes to continue chasing their dreams is the aspect of the underdog. These players’ stories not only make for great motivating tools, but great reasons to watch and be invested, too.
Nate Boyer is one of those players. After serving time in the military as a Green Beret, Boyer walked on as a self-taught long snapper to the University of Texas at the age of 29. Following his time at Texas — and after going undrafted — he was given a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks. Due to certain injuries, the team had to let him go before the regular season, but told Boyer he could “absolutely” play in the NFL, the timing just wasn’t right.
Boyer took that to heart.
He’s still snapping. He’s looking for a way to make that NFL jump again, and after trying out in San Antonio, TX, he’s hoping MLFB is the vehicle that gives him that chance.
