Larry Kirksey

Larry Kirksey is an accomplished football player, lead recruiter, and evaluator of both college and NFL talent. As an experienced former Head Coach, Special Teams and Position Coach, he’s developed some of the NFL’s finest talent including Wide Receivers Jerry Rice and Andre Johnson.

His span includes more than 30 years of mentoring, coaching, instructing, and feature winning tenures at 7 NCAA Division I-A Football programs and 2 division II colleges. Larry has worked along side hall of fame NFL coaches, and has coached both college and NFL Hall of Fame players.

He began his accomplished coaching career in 1974 as the Wide Receiver/Tight End Coach for the University of Miami (Ohio). After several college stops including the University of Kansas, University of Florida and University of Alabama, he moved to the NFL in 1997 where he became a position coach with the San Francisco 49ers. That experience led to opportunities with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, and most recently with the Houston Texans, where he just finished a six-year stint as the team’s Wide Receiver Coach.
