Meet the Eight MLFB Franchise Players

Darron Thomas | QB | Team Miller

A Houston native, Thomas’ brightest spotlight in the game of football came when he led the Oregon Ducks to the BCS National Championship game in 2011. He completed his career at Oregon with a 24-3 record, two consecutive Pac-12 titles, and a win in the 2012 Rose Bowl. In two years as the Ducks full-time quarterback, Thomas threw for over 5,000 yards and 63 touchdowns.

Since his time at Oregon, Thomas has played in the CFL, CPI and the AFL. As a dual-threat quarterback who has experience on college football’s highest stage, Thomas brings a dynamic playing style with knowledge of speed offenses not many quarterbacks possess.

Stephen Garcia | QB | Team Hall

A Florida native, Stephen Garcia is best known for his time as the starting quarterback for the University of South Carolina. In 2010, he led the Gamecocks to their first-ever win over a No. 1 ranked opponent defeating Alabama and won the SEC East in that same season. Over the course of four seasons, Garcia threw for over 7,500 yards and 47 touchdowns.

In 2012, Garcia signed a three-year deal to play with the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL and in 2014 he moved over to the AFL and signed as the starting quarterback the Tampa Bay Storm.

Casey Pachall | QB | Team Ford

Pachall, a native of Brownwood, TX, is known for his time as the starting quarterback at TCU. Pachall spent his redshirt freshman days as back-up to current Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback, Andy Dalton. However, in limited time on the field, he still managed to throw his first career touchdown in just nine pass attempts. In 2011, he became the star of the show and became a top-10 rated college quarterback. In his 24 games as a starter, Pachall threw for 5,415 yards, 431 completions and 42 touchdowns.

Since his college days, Pachall has been signed by both the Toronto Argonauts and the Calgary Stampeders for the CFL.

Joe Adams | WR/KR | Team Campo

Joe Adams, an Arkansas native, is a dynamic receiver and return man who spent his college days at the University of Arkansas. By the end of his senior season, Adams had accumulated All-American, All-SEC, Special teams Player of the Year, and Johnny Rodgers Award Winning honors.

Adams was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He spent two season with Carolina before spending time on the Houston Texans, Edmonton Eskimos (CFL) and BC Lions (CFL). As one of the most elusive players in college football, Adams brings an X-factor to his MLFB team that other rosters simply will not have.

Dan LeFevour | QB | Team Kirksey

As a product of the Midwest, LeFevour’s quarterback journey started at Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois. During his time at Benet, LeFevour threw for nearly 3,000 yards with 24 touchdowns, but also added 30 touchdowns on the ground for a school record 54 scores. In fact, the school recognized Dan’s talents by retiring his jersey (11) in 2011.

LeFevour attended Central Michigan University and led his team to three Mid-American Conference championships in his four season there. He currently holds Mid-American Conference records for career completions, attempts, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns and total offensive yards. He’s the only player in NCAA history with over 12,000 passing yards and 2,500 rushing yards.

LeFevour was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Since then he’s been on the rosters of Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars, but ultimately landed a contract with the Montreal Alouettes in 2015.

Chris Bonner | QB | Team Collins

Despite his size, Bonner wasn’t recruited out of high school and began his career as Junior College standout. After two solid seasons, Bonner wound up as the starter at Colorado State -Pueblo, which had just graduated its starting quarterback. CSU-Pueblo won a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference titles before Bonner arrived and he led them to another pair of RMAC titles, and the school’s first-ever national title.

Bonner threw for 3,291 yards and 30 touchdowns (with eight interceptions) in helping lead the Thunder Wolves to their first national championship (Division II) in 2014. In a 13-0 win over Minnesota State-Mankato in the national title game, Bonner threw for 191 yards and a touchdown.

Emmanuel Stephens | DE | Team Geis

As a Houston native, Stephens’ football journey has taken him all across the southeast. Staying in his home state of Texas for community college, Stephens attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas where he was selected to the All-American first-team in 2007. With the talent to rush the passer, he went on to play defensive end for Ole Miss in 2008-2009.

Stephens signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2010 and spent time on their roster and practice squad for the duration of that season. His last time in the NFL was spent with the Cleveland Browns in 2012 as an active player.

Taylor Belsterling | WR | Team Cottrell

A Montgomery, Alabama native, Belsterling’s path to football has been an unconventional one; he’s fought his entire career to prove to people that just because he was from smaller schools, didn’t mean he didn’t deserve to be where some of the big names were.

Belsterling had attended a community college (that didn’t not have football) for a year and half before going to Huntingdon College. As a junior in 2013, Belsterling caught 38 passes for 699 yards and six touchdowns in nine games, but ran out of eligibility to play his last season. Since its first year of football in 2003, Huntingdon, an NCAA Division III school, has only had one player sign an NFL contract.

Belsterling is looking to become the second, and as a franchise player for Major League Football, he’s headed in the right direction.
