Since 1979, Michael McCarthy has been a highly successful professional football scout. Over a thirty-six year period, he’s worked in the USFL, AFL and the CFL.
In 1979, Michael McCarthy began his scouting career on the staff of the NFL’s New England Patriots. In 1982, he became the Football Operations Manager for the Seattle Seahawks where he served multiple duties for the NFL team.
However, desk work wasn’t his forte, so he returned to scouting where he enjoyed evaluating players. He’s spent the majority of his career in the Canadian Football League serving multiple roles including Senior Advising Consultant, General Manager, Head of Football Operations and Player Personnel Director for six CFL teams. During his tenure in the Canadian Football League, Mr. McCarthy’s teams won an impressive five Grey Cup Championships.
