Rick Nichols – Vice President Business Development

Major League Football (MLFB) announced today that the new spring football league has hired Rick Nichols, as Vice President of Business Development.  Nichols has over 27 years experience in the National Football League as a team administrator, with the Houston Oilers, (now Tennessee Titans), Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.

Rick Nichols began his career with the Houston Oilers in 1973 as an intern and served in a number of capacities within the organization, including Ticket Manager, Marketing Director, Director of Administration, Vice President of Sky Box Management and President of the Derrick Dolls, the team cheerleaders.  He also represented the Oilers on the NFL Properties Board of Directors.

He joined the Denver Broncos Football Club in 1995 when he was named Director of Ticket Operations and Business Development.  He also served as the Senior Director of Ticket Operations and Business Development and Vice President of Ticket Operations and Business Development until he left the team in 2006, after 11 seasons.  Nichols was hired by the Arizona Cardinals in January, 2013 and remained there until April, 2015 as the Director of Club Seat Sales.

In addition to his time in the NFL, Mr. Nichols was served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Broomfield Sports and Entertainment where he was responsible for two minor league franchises, The Rocky Mountain Rage and the NBADL team, Colorado 14ers from April, 2007 until August, 2008.

Mr. Nichols was also involved in the NFL’s spring football league, the World League of American Football in 1992, when he was named Vice President and General Manager of the Birmingham Fire.  Prior to his time in the World League, Nichols served as Vice President and General Manager of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League.  Nichols has also worked on the agency side of the business, with Marketing Associates International and his own consulting company, Admissions Sports Consulting.   Agency client projects during that time period included St. Louis Expansion Group, Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, Denver Broncos, NFL Europe, Sprint, UIF Colorado Ice, CFL Ottawa Rough Riders prospective ownership group, Colorado Crush, Turnstyles Ticketing, Premiere Consulting, United Football League, Broomfield Sports and Entertainment and Major League Football.
