In 1973, Robert Ford began a highly successful four-decade career as an assistant head coach and college recruiter. His journey began at the High School level in Houston, Texas and led to a trio of Super Bowl championships in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. In those early days, Ford began teaching young wide receivers the art of catching footballs. In the 80’s, he moved up the coaching tree as wide receivers coach at Mississippi State, University of Kansas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M University.
From 1991- 2007, he enjoyed a highly successful coaching career at the NFL level serving as position coach for the aforementioned Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders. After working at the highest levels coaching standout NFL players such as Jay Novachak, O.J. McDuffie, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Cris Carter and Randy Moss, he returned to his college coaching roots to become the Wide Receiver coach at Texas Southern University.
