Dave Campo

Not many men in the coaching ranks have the defensive mind of Dave Campo. He began his coaching career as a highly skilled college assistant before ultimately rising in the ranks of the NFL coaching fraternity with the Dallas Cowboys. In 1989, he began one of two stops on the coaching staff for America’s team.  Starting as the Cowboys defensive assistant in 1989, he would move up the coaching tree from a position coach to defensive coordinator to head coach in 2000.

For three seasons, he held that post trying to resurrect the NFC East team after the loss of Hall of Fame Quarterback, Troy Aikmen. In 2003, he joined the staff of the Cleveland Browns as their defensive coordinator. After two seasons in Cleveland, he joined the staff of the Jacksonville Jaguars as their Assistant Head Coach and Secondary coach. Three years later he would return to the Cowboys in 2008 to once again work for the organization where he enjoyed much success. It was after that last NFL term with the Cowboys that he returned to his college roots and began a three-year run at the University of Kansas as the Jayhawks, Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach under Charlie Weis.
